Puffed Wheat Squares

Prepare the following ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of corn syrup
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 3/2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 6-7 cups of puffed wheat
  • Pinch of salt
Combine all of the ingredients except for the puffed wheat in a large pot. Stir and bring to a boil over medium heat.





Simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat.







Fold in the puffed wheat, ensuring that the wheat is covered with the sauce.

Press into a lightly greased 8x8 inch pan. Allow to cool and set, then cut into squares.

Adding too much butter makes them fall apart, but they still taste good.
